For the first time in a while there is an optimism surrounding the UK housing market that has been missing for quite some time. This optimism has been backed up by the slightest of rises in January with house prices increasing by 0.6 %, taking the average UK home price to £160,907.
This slight rise has led to homeowners across the country becoming increasingly optimistic that the housing marketing in the UK and there is a greater belief that those looking to sell and also first time buyers may have more hope of securing deals this year. Rightmove have fuelled this optimism by also predicting that house prices could continue to rise in 2012 despite the uncertain economic climate and with banks still hesitant to lend.
