Hazelwood Rec to get £45K for a multi-use games area

A new multi-use games area will be installed at a Palmers Green park after the council successfully bid for £45,000 from the London Marathon Charitable Trust.

The improvements to Hazelwood Recreation Ground off Hedge Lane, will significantly improve the current five a side grass football pitch and tarmac basketball area, be free to use all year round and will tackle problems with water logging on the football pitch in the winter.

The Rec is located off Hedge Lane and surrounded by residential roads comprising mainly of 3 and 4 bedroom family houses. They have recently had a new playground activity unit installed in the children’s play area with soft rubber matting. The park also offer the FREE use of tennis courts all year around, an enclosed dog walking area, a great rope climbing frame and sandpit for the children to enjoy. 

The park is also lucky to have an active friends group and is well utilised by children at near by Hazelwood School.
