Property Overview by Tony Ourris

I hope you enjoyed the summer taking advantage of the good weather, our GB success at the Rio Olympics, and had fun at our very own Palmers Green Festival.

Now that the dust has settled since the UK decided to leave the EU there is still a big question mark hanging over the UK property market.

Unsurprisingly first time buyers are more nervous about acquiring property when there is a risk that property prices may fall. In my opinion, since the appointment of Theresa May as Prime Minister, some stability has returned to the market place and we have seen an increased number of market valuations locally with sellers feeling more confident about the future. In central London the weakness of the pound may see more foreign buyers entering the market however this does not really apply to us here in the suburbs. Demand for good quality family homes out strips supply in Palmers Green and Southgate therefore I predict that the market will continue to strengthen as we head towards the end of the year.

In terms of the letting market until such time that we exit the EU I do not foresee any significant shifts in recent demand for property. We are in a very strong position to choose the highest quality of tenant for our landlords.
