What's happening with Enfield landlord licensing?

Due to popular demand (and with apologies for short notice), we are organising an update meeting for landlords and agents, this Thursday, 19 March 2015, at 7.15 pm for a 7.30 pm start. The meeting should finish by 8.45 pm.

Venue: Fox Pub Function Room, 413 Green Lanes, Palmers Green, London N13 4JD. the function room is accessed from the free pub car park (on Fox Lane). On-street parking is free from 6.30 pm but please check for local restrictions. Nearest rail station: Palmers Green. The location is also served well by buses.

Find out about our High Court victory, which resulted in Enfield's additional (HMO) and selective (single household) licensing schemes both being quashed. Enfield are trying to appeal.

Hear about changes in landlord licensing law being rushed through at the moment by the Government.

Discuss next steps, including how to improve standards without a licensing scheme.

There will be plenty of opportunity for questions.

The judge found that Enfield Council's designations were ultra vires (which means they acted beyond their legal powers). You can enjoy reading the full judgment here. Paragraph 61 is likely to be of most interest.

These emails aren't reaching everyone, so please update your friends with what is happening and bring them along. Feel free to email with any questions.

Many thanks for your support

Best wishes
